Ingeteam will provide the hybrid-electric propulsion for a pelagic fishing trawler to be built at the Zamakona shipyard in Bilbao, Spain.
The vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design, will have a number of environmentally friendly features, many of which will be making their debut on the trawler for Gitte Henning.
Hybrid propulsion comes from three generators of 2,625kVA and two at 1,625kVA chosen to optimize the power balance based on its operational profile and operating conditions.
The generators are equipped with catalytic converters to reduce emissions and comply with IMO Tier III requirements.
Two integrated INDAR Permanent Magnetic Motors are driven by Ingedrive LV400 offering reduced energy loss and operating more efficiently than conventional electric motors.
The battery system has a capacity of 1,130kWh controlled by INGESHIP Energy Management System and supports the generators when the load is high and recharge when it is low.
