Freudenberg e-Power Systems (Booth 7020) is in Amsterdam to present its Xpand pack – a fast-charging, long-life battery suitable for a wide range of applications and power demands. For the maritime industry, the pack’s modularity and XRS-2 rack system enable easy integration into small and large vessels, marking an important step toward more sustainable shipping.
For small vessels, one or more systems can be distributed across the vessel neatly and flexibly, with the pack’s outstanding energy-to-weight ratio allowing for higher payloads. For large vessels, the company says its fully integrated battery rack solutions offer virtually no limit to the number of installed packs.
Certified to Lloyd’s Register type approval, the Xpand pack can withstand vibrations, shocks and operational hazards. It comes with a field-proven battery management system and advanced safety features, while the unique liquid cooling system ensures optimum long-term performance and service life.
The company has been telling expo visitors more about its fuel cell maritime module: “Our maritime fuel cell systems use advanced technology to deliver clean and reliable power generation,” said Elaine Arnold, marketing specialist, Freudenberg e-Power Systems.
Featuring a modular and scalable design, the systems can be adapted to different vessel types and sizes, from small passenger ships to large cargo vessels.
“We focus on providing our customers with the best-in-class total cost of ownership, which includes lowering service and maintenance costs, maximizing range and optimizing payload or passenger cabins. With certified fuel cell systems for hydrogen, methanol and liquified natural gas, we can help you reduce your emissions, improve your efficiency and enhance your competitiveness in the maritime market,” continued Arnold.
“We are pleased to be part of Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo to present our solutions for the electrification of the maritime industry to a broad audience. With our needs-oriented battery and fuel cell systems, we are a trusted partner for the journey to net zero.”
