Zinus has unveiled the next generation of its cruiser design at Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo. The CRU500 is a groundbreaking three-in-one shore power solution that aims to redefine the cruise industry’s sustainability standards. It combines style, efficiency and remote-controlled convenience in an all-electric package, tailored specifically for the cruising industry.
The CRU500 boasts a compact design that not only saves space in ports but also ensures effortless operation. The system’s flexible boom and cable puller simplify cable connections, and multi-axial movements ensure streamlined performance. This lightweight system requires no support legs, minimizing its operational footprint and maximizing valuable space for customers.
The CRU500’s two-way spooling system accommodates both right and left spooling, and its integrated cable chain dramatically reduces the risk of cable damage. As a fully electric system, the CRU500 also eliminates any concerns associated with hydraulic components.
The CRU500 can be customized with colors and lighting to complement any port environment, and its minimal maintenance requirements make it an ideal, sustainable solution for the cruise industry.
“With the CRU500, we are aiming to meet the growing demand for efficient, eco-friendly solutions in the maritime and cruise industry,” explained Tore Martin Svanheld, Zinus VP of sales and marketing. “This system will be particularly beneficial to port authorities and cruise ship operators who are committed to leading the way in maritime sustainability. We’re excited to present the innovative CRU500 at the show and connect with those who share our vision of building a net-zero-carbon future for the maritime industry.”
As for the event itself, Geir Odland (pictured above), Zinus’s chief service officer, said the company had been welcoming inquiries since the expo opened: “We found it was busy in the first hours of the show yesterday,” he said. “We’ve had valuable discussions with people who are not here for fun – they work in this specific area with these products. We’ve met shipowners and system integrators and people who do the electrical installation on board and at the ports, so we have seen different types of people coming here. Unlike other exhibitions where you only meet people from that country or region, at this show you can meet people from other continents, including North America.”
